Now hiring full-time pre-doctoral research assistants!  Apply now.

MIT Sloan is looking to hire up to three full-time pre-doctoral research fellows. Start date: July 1, 2026, for a duration of one year, with potential renewal for a second. If you are interested in doing research at the frontier of computer science, finance and economics, and have the opportunity to work with large and unique datasets, please apply via this link. In particular, I am on the lookout for candidates interested in the application of deep learning to portfolio problems and other applications in economics and finance.

I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at MIT Sloan School of Management. My research is at the intersection of Asset Pricing, Bayesian Econometrics, and Macroeconomics.

I hold a PhD in Economics from London Business School, an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a BSc in Economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Before joining MIT, I started my career at the European Central Bank, and founded the Quantitative Research group at Fulcrum Asset Management, where I developed the integration of macroeconomic models into systematic investment strategies, and the use of neural networks in dynamic portfolio allocation.
